François turned to business coaching when he knew something had to change. The result? He got his vacation and more. After only five weeks of coaching, he committed to a two-week canoe-camping trip. He and his wife Caroline left a month later. A physical challenge, rest, rejuvenation and reconnection with his wife and himself were the obvious short-term benefits. The creativity and new perspectives that came while paddling down the river proved equally important.
He brought his ideas back to his coaching sessions and through goal-setting turned them into concrete actionable steps: search for a VP of Client Services to take over much of his direct client workload and open a new division focused on green communications. He now takes a minimum of six weeks off a year. Business is booming.
Through coaching, François got clear on the things he valued most (i.e. creativity, connection, personal freedom, etc.) and what he wanted to create in his business and life. He was able to see that his fears (of disappointing others, of making mistakes, of losing control) kept him from his bigger vision. For François, our work together opened up new horizons and gave him the structured accountability he needed to build the business and life he was longing for. I continue to coach François every other week in focused one-hour sessions. He now uses coaching to zero in on a few important goals and as a place to sort out how he feels about key business and life decisions.
